Ozark Beer Company’s first Berliner Weisse starts pouring this Thursday. Come learn about this fascinating style and taste it fresh from our tap.
A Berliner Weisse, or Berlin White, is a traditionally tart beer. Napoleon called it the “Champagne of the North.”
The beer is traditionally served with a sweet syrup to offset some of the beer’s tartness. Some drinkers prefer the beer straight, light and tart. Others like a little sweetness and some like a lot, bringing the beer’s flavor closer to that of a soda. Our syrups come to us from PH Alchemy in Fayetteville, AR. PH is known for their inventive takes on traditional shrubs, bitters, syrups and other aromatics. We’ll be paring ours with a Woodruff syrup, which is minty and herb like, and a Thicket Syrup made of an assortment of berries.
The beer is light, 3.2 ABV and endlessly refreshing. We invite you to come celebrate the release of this special beer. Cheers!
